Wiz Khalifa & 2 Chainz - We Own It (Fast & Furious)

The theme song of the new movie. I mean...it's ok. I like how the beat sound soundtrack-ish if you know what I mean. haha. Hooks pretty catchy though. Enjoy!

By the way, there's a comment section so feel free to agree or disagree or start a discussion!

B.o.B and 2 Chainz - Headband

B.o.B – Headband (Feat. 2 Chainz)

Take the whole "pop artist" idea of B.o.B out of your head. This guy can spit and it shows on this track. Great guest verse from 2 Chainz. Beat produced by Dj Mustard.

2) Loopy feat. Smoke DZA and Chinx Drugs - [3.25]

3) Tell Em Bout It feat. Mista F.A.B & Troy Ave - [3.75]

4) Mean feat Action Bronson & French Montana - [4.25]

5) Yacht Leash feat Earl Sweatshirt and Riff Raff - [4]

Overall Score: [76% 3.8, Good; Worth Listening To]

Harry Fraud is one of the hottest producers in the game right now. This project is really made to be listened to in one sitting. It's only seventeen minutes long. The weakest song on the EP just felt too generic. It didn't sound like a Harry Fraud beat and the verses were mediocre at best. Besides that, all the guest verses (great features by the way) are excellent most notably Earl Sweatshirt's.

I did have one MAJOR complaint though. Why is everything censored? All the songs are the clean version. There's not a single dirty version online. Maybe it's because it's technically sponsored by Scion, but it's still a nuisance to hear an awkward silence in the middle of someone's verse when there should be a curse word or weed reference that was an obvious part of the original verse but then taken out to keep it "clean". Give it a listen though! And try to do it in one sitting.

Listen here.

It's that time of year again. Time for each rapper in the freshman class to showcase all of their individual talent which makes for a surprisingly amusing listen. This class has been called the "best class ever" and even though I don't agree (freshman class of 2009) it does come pretty close in some instances.

The tape did a pretty good job of immediatly capturing my attention with the first song "Bars", which was basically each rapper taking a turn on the mic, making for a cypher like feel that felt like a suitable opening for the tape. From there on each artist has at least one individual song which is a little bit of a double edged sword. I know it's the freshman class and all but do I really have to suffer through two Trinidad James songs? I couldn't tell you how many times I almost pressed the skip button on Kirko Bang'z "So Trill". Fortunately K. R. I. T saves the song, but good luck getting through the first half. And do I really only get to hear Logic once on the ENTIRE tape? He clearly one of the best songs on there. It's decision making like this that makes me wonder about XXL's rating system and which rappers they really think should be up next. The production on the project varies widely. You have anything from chill piano beats that allow for wordplay to straight up crack house trap music. On the same note, major props to Mr. Scott for producing his own beats. All that being said, there's something for everyone on this tape. Soon we'll get to see which of these class members will have their own cover. Who do you think had the best song? Did you like this freshman class? Tell us what you think in the comments!

Chance the Rapper is a Chicago emcee who recently has garnered the attention of the internet as of late, gaining positive feedback for his new mixtape Acid Rap. Featuring the likes of high profile names such as Action Bronson, Twista, Childish Gambino, Ab-Soul, & BJ The Chicago Kid, it's easy to see Chance the Rapper is already making a name for himself. With only two mixtapes to his name, he has to be doing something right, so why not give Acid Rap a try?

One of the first things I noticed about this tape was the Chicago influence, displayed through the jazzy, soulful production. This threw me off at first, as I was initially expecting something more replicant to a psychedelic experience with a name like "Acid Rap". However, as the tape progresses, it becomes more apparent as to why that name was chosen in the first place. It feels as if there's a whole bunch going on at once, partially due to all the instruments incorporated into the beats as well Chance's unique musical delivery. Chance flows at what seems like a thousand words per minute at certain points, yet also tends to switch his flow up quite often. Chance also can sing, and sometimes raps and songs his lyrics at the same time, giving each bar it's own melody. At times the music can approach cringe worthy territory, but for the most part the music is quite heartfelt and animated. This is something that isn't as commonly displayed by modern day rappers, which only makes his music that much more appreciable. Besides the Chicago jazz influence displayed here, some influence can be heard from the likes of The Pharcyde, The Roots, Kanye West (a Chicago native, I know), or maybe even some MF Doom at times. Though Chance's flow personally most reminds me of the late Old Dirty Bastard, because it come off as nonsense. Sometimes his ambition gets the better of him, and sometimes he's really not saying anything. However, for the most part, Chance has a unique, innovative style that is sure to gain him some recognition if he keeps this up. No, it doesn't really replicate a psychedelic experience very well. However, if the listener listens to this without that intention formation, then it should be fairly easy to enjoy Acid Rap, as it is easily one of the better mixtapes to come out this year.
